BloodRush Chapter One

The trees were flying so fast by that they seemed invisible. The sun barely touched my skin. My feet barely touched the ground. I have a hover board but I love running so, there’s no need. It lays in my room with a thick layer of dust on it.

I was hurrying. Zeb, Tally, and Nika were waiting for me. I’m not sure why I was called. Nika just said it was of the upmost importance. I never question. I never judge.

The place we meet is on the far side of the forest in an old tree besides the clearing where Nika’s house stands. Which is convenient, for she is the one who calls these little “get togethers” most often.

Nika is a new vampire, about the age of ten but the appearance of an eighteen year old. Most would consider that old but when your immortal being ten is just the beginning of you life, or existence? She has short brown hair and is gorgeous. Her eyes are like rubies, they shine like the brightest stars in the universe. She is tall and skinny, of course on my planet that isn’t?

Zeb is almost as old as me, at 387 years old and he looks to be nineteen. He too has red eyes, and has amazing beauty but he is still no comparison to Nika. He is the smartest of the four of us, but he acts as if he’s not most of the time just to fit in. Zeb is the tallest and has short brown hair.

Tally, well not much to say about her, she is vain, self centered, and arrogant. Though you can’t choose your family, can you? She is my sister. She 206 with the look of a 14 year old and she will remain that way forever more. Tally is the annoying one, but she can be useful if she wants to be. Her only talent is her sense of self preservation.

Me? I’m fast!

Ok, Ok, I know you’re wondering, how can Tally and me be born that far apart, right? Well that’s simple, my parents were immortals, and could have a baby at any time. We’re the type of immortals most widely known as vampires. We just refer to ourselves as immortals, whereas humans are mortals.

“Nika? Zeb? Tally? You here?”

“Yes,” Nika answered quickly as my eyes shot to a low branch of our tree. I smiled. “But Tally’s late again”

She always is I thought. Zeb was on the branch above her, and I took the one that was across from Him. I noticed him laughing, at my thoughts.

Oh did I mention immortals can read minds?

“Have you herd from her?”

“She called two seconds before you showed up” she said with the roll of her eyes. I looked at my communicator. It’s basically one of those ancient cell phones but it’s on your wrist, for some reason there were a lot of “car” accidents so now we have hands free technology. Hell I don’t even know what a car is!

“Vara, she’ll be-” Nika was interrupted by the sound of a hover board.

“Speak of the Devil!” Nika whispered.

“You sure took your sweet time!” I screamed.

“Relax!!! At least I’m here at all, these meetings get so boring!”

“Like you have anything better to do!”

“I so do!”

“Brushing your hair doesn’t count!”

“OH SHUT UP YOU TWO!!!!” Nika and Zeb yelled so loud, I got an instant headache.

“Ok, ok, so why did you call this meeting again?” I asked with the sound of irritation in my voice, turning toward Nika. “I………well I………sort of… want to go back to earth!”

“What?” we all managed to crock out in disbelief.

“It’s so hot here…and I miss my family!”

“You can’t go; you’ve only been here a short time.” Tally cried.

“and you need the heat or you’ll die.” I glaired at her.

“I’ve been here ten years, which is a lot of time to a human. And if I go back in the summer it’ll be fine.”

“But you’re a vampire now.” I said seriously.

“Yes, I’m a vampire, but maybe I don’t wish to be!”

“Wish to or not, that is what you are so start acting like one!” That sentence brought tears to her eyes.

“That’s it! I’m going back alone.” She jumped out of the tree, jumped on her hover board and left as fast as it would take her. I could have easily caught up to her but for some reason my lags wouldn’t move, no matter how hard I tried to make them.

“So what is the plan now…I mean we can‘t let her go alone, can we?” Tally asked.

“If she does decide to go, we’re going with her, I never said I wouldn’t” I said “Oh, and Zeb, get Tally home. I need to speak to Nika” With that, Zeb jumped out of the tree and Tally and Zeb got on her hover board and left.

At this moment, it felt as if the world could explode at any minute, because Nika is mad at me because I hated the idea of going with her, but it also seemed like Zeb and Tally were too, for some reason.

Maybe going to earth wouldn’t be so bad, I haven’t been there in nearly 400 years, and as I remember the animals taste good.

Yes, we drink blood, if you don’t like that, you shouldn’t be reading the journal of a vampire.

Since I am the fastest, I decided to go catch up with her, I had no dough in my mind, she would be going home to pack, because Nika always did what she said she was going to do, and so do I. Surly that means I’m going to earth.

This point in time is not a happy one. Though my parents were part of a race of immortals and lived a billion times the life of a human, they are dead, now. I only have my friends and my sister. What is the point of my going to earth?

To help Nika of course.

I ran in the dense forest, tree after tree, thick and black, until I came to the clearing, where the trees did not grow. The grass was light green, for lack of water on this dry planet. The clearing was vast, the grass went on for miles, and in the center of my view was a stone mansion that, from where I was standing looked no larger then a penny.

After Nika was brought here by her creator, her creator left no ones seen him since. Nika built her house all by herself.

Maybe she’ll find him one day….that would be wicked-sweet!

Nika had sensed me coming, I could feel it.

Isn’t it funny how I can sense what she senses?

“Why? Why did you follow me?” she sounded angry. And I was in no mood to fight her.

“You caught me off guard, I wasn’t expecting something like that, and I’m sorry I reacted defensively!”

She thought about my words for a minuet, and grinned.

“If I were you I might have taken it the same way.”

We were friends again, that is all I could ask for

Quick make up, right?

“So, when are we leaving?” I asked

“We’re leaving in a month; I have already called Zeb’s brother that is when he’ll have the Pod ready.”

Zeb has a twin brother named Svein. He does all the mechanical stuff for our group. He looked slightly more muscular than Zeb, and much more serious. His latest creation was the Pod. The Pod was a ship that could travel at the speed of light, literally.

“So I take it Svein is coming along?” I asked

“Of course! How did he put it….oh yes…he said he wouldn’t let us kill his poor ship, not without him being able to drive it first himself, even though I told him we’d be careful.”

“Well that’s Svein for you.” I laugh.

“Yeah, I guess. Who is coming with us?” She asked curiously.

“You really have to ask? We’re all coming, including Svein, so that means there are 5 of us.” She had a big smile on her face, for my words had told her what she had wanted to hear. The whole gang was coming along.

“Actually, I want to go sooner, Nika.” I had decided, because I wanted, to back to earth now. I was starting to get excited, the more I though about it. Maybe that was because I wanted to reminisce the memories, I had there. Or maybe I wanted to see how badly the humans had screwed up the earth. I don’t exactly know why, myself, but I didn’t care.

“Really? Why the change of mind?”

“I’m not sure. Can you and Zeb give Svein a hand with the Pod?” I asked

“Sure, with our help it will be done in a few days, I’ll even ask Tally to help” she said, knowing Tally would be reluctant.

“But what will you be doing?” she asked.

“Me? I’ll be calming myself. And you know Svein, would never let me help with the Pod, anyway, he thinks I’m clumsy.”

“Why calm yourself?” she asked.

“Humans on Earth don't like or know Vampires are real, we will be out of place and if anyone finds out I need to have my emotions in check.” and with that I took off running.

BloodRush Chapter 2

When I got home, I rushed to my room. It was small. Not like any other houses on this planet.

All that was there was a bed, and an old chest filled with memorabilia from my life. The chest was pine wood, and was old, though I’m not sure how old. Inside laid my hover board, with its thick layer of dust. My guitar, from when Zeb last went to earth, was also in there. Last, my ring. Not just any ring, one that when you put it on made you invisible.

Sounds like Lord of the Rings, right? One right to rule them all, yea, right!

I grabbed the ring. When you put it on, not only do you become invisible, but to the person wearing it, everyone else around them becomes invisible.

I had to be alone. Meditation needs silence, concentration.

I sat on the floor, closed my eyes, and put on the ring, making sure I was not to be disturbed.

I started searching my heart and mind for peace and my inner strength. I sat there for what seemed like seconds but was most likely hours. I was about to quit and go to bed but, then something happened

Pictures of this girl started running through my mind. More like a vision.
